Condolences

Reisterstown, MD - swold Fire Company offers our condolences to the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company in Baltimore County, MD. Firefighter Gene Kirchner was critically injured on April 24 while searching a burning home for a trapped civilian. That civilian perished in the blaze. Firefighter Kirchner died of his injuries today.

Cheswold has hosted a trench rescue class here at our station for the last two years......

Trailer Fire
4.5.2013
Pinewood Acres - swold was alerted to a trailer fire in the Pinewood Acres Mobile Home Park around 11:30 am. Leipsic Fire Company was alerted to assist. Engine 43-2 under the command of Past Chief Roy arrived to find smoke showing from the front door. The responding crews quickly extinguished the fire and removed the smoke from the trailer.

Assist on House Fire

Leipsic - e companies from Leipsic, Cheswold, and Littler Creek were alerted to a working house fire on West Street in the town of Leipsic. Rescue/Engine 53-6 arrived on scene and reported fire showing. The crews from the three companies worked together to bring the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

Ice Recue Training

Garrisons Lake - bers of the Cheswold Fire Company, Leipsic Fire Company, and the Kent County Special Operations Team participated in Ice Rescue training put on by the Delaware State Fire School. Around 30 members drilled on ice safety, proper equipment, and methods of rescue during the class.

Accident with Entrapment
Brenford Road - 430 am, Cheswold Fire Company, Kent County Paremedics, and the State Police helicopter were dispatched for an accident with entrapment on Brenford Road near Mt. Friendship Road. Fire Chief Jeff Brown arrived and confirmed a car into a tree with one subject heavily entrapped inside.

Rescue 43 and A-43 arrived and began extrication and patient care. The subject was removed after extensive work......
